Abstract: | The stalemate and crisis UNASUR finds itself have generated a great diversity of interpretations about their causes and consequences. In this context, the situation of the South American Defence Council (CDS) deserves particular attention, due to its relevance in the construction of greater autonomy for South America vis-a-vis global hegemonic processes and players. This article aims to open some lines of reflection on the causes of the weak impact and stagnation of the aforementioned Council. |
