A segunda parte investiga as maneiras pelas quais a arquitetura constrói,
Sight is the sense of distance: the exteriority of vision allows us to look wi-thout having to come into contact with the observed object. The focus of my research is to understand the relationship between sight and distance, first in art and then in the construction of the space we inhabit. The first part of the research aims the understanding, in pictorial art, of the passage from a representation of reality to a representation of its appearance. If art is the manifestation of the relationship that man has with the world, what is the relationship between man and reality when he tries to reconstruct his gaze, translating it into an image? Is the dominion of appearance perhaps the symbol of a relationship with the real world based on distance? The second part investigates the ways in which architecture constructs, through the domain of sight, the perception of reality. Through the distance of the gaze, architecture seems able to simulate reality, spaces, relationships, creating its desired appearance. When architecture builds appearance, it seems to be the manifestation of a man who relates himself to reality in a merely visual way, through a distance that reduces experience to the gaze alone. Isn’t that the space for a man who becomes a spectator of a reality that he stops being part of? Architecture influences the way we experience ourselves and others. Dance, theater, reveal themselves as a chance to think of a space that leads to action, in which the dancers’ bodies merge into a Dionysian spiral with the body of architecture. |
